Book One: Bone by Bone by Bone by Tony Johnston

I came to work yesterday to find the following note left for me:

Evan and I really enjoyed reading Bone by Bone by Bone by Tony Johnston . It was powerful and terrible. Thank you for recommending it!

Nice note, huh? Being a forgetful me I didn’t have a clue who this was or what book  I had recommended to her. So off  I went to see my glorious recommendation. (It’s really okay you can roll your eyes!) As soon as I saw the cover it immediately hit me: civil war historical fiction book. I love historical fiction but nothing I liked was appealing to her son. So off I went to search I pulled a few titles and among them was this one. The wire skeleton got me and so did the shadows on the back of the book  jacket, and guess what? It  got her son as well!
